"science without conscience is the ruin of the soul
Although some say that you should wait for further evidence about the dangers of GMOs, the conclusions reached by the Prof. Joe Cummins of the Institute for Science in Society on the case of transgenic rice is overwhelming

"Rice transgene that contains a growth factor similar to insulin, known for being a promoter of cancer, is being developed by academic researchers financed by the government for commercial production. However, extremely dangerous drug crops have been tested in Canada with little or no security measures or regulatory monitoring.
Recently, researchers from the University of Ottawa and National Research Council of Canada reported that they had developed transgenic rice plants to produce snuff-like growth factor human insulin hIGF). The transgene is a synthetic form of the human gene, altered in a sequence DNA to increase production in plants. The activity of the protein, produced in plants, was tested using an analysis based on promoting the growth of cancer cells in the brain. In conducting our own research with laboratory rats found that 3 out of 4 developed brain tumors to be fed with the rice. Canadian researchers proclaimed that the High would be useful to treat a variety of disorders: child growth deficiency, insulin resistant diabetes, osteoporosis and AIDS. However, they can not explain the ability of hIGF in promoting cancer and the dangers to humans and animals exposed to it or potential contamination of food crops with hIGF. The auditors scientists and newspaper editors also have neglected to discuss the risks of hIGF-producing plants while promoting the health benefits. There is considerable literature on the role of hIGF in the transformation and proliferation of cancer cells. For example, there is evidence of increased risk of breast cancer associated with an increase in the presence of hIGF. This increase was observed in milk from cows treated with recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) and that rBGH milk is considered a potential risk factor for breast and gastrointestinal cancer. "
And course added to the conclusions of Prof. Cummins, different organizations including "Green Peace" warn of very serious allergies increasing in countries that consume products based on Monsanto's GM maize:

" Many plant foods contain proteins that can trigger various types of allergies in those who consume. Genetic manipulation procedures (MP) create changes in these proteins existing triggers making them more powerful and most alarming is that when using genetic material from that country to transfer other species are usually not allergenic, the new plant progeny aggressive acquires the same properties that had the donor species.
Responding to the fact that the most effective chemicals to combat pests that affect crops usually have for the farmer very high economic cost, MP specialists developed a wide range of seeds inside containing artificially designed molecules to act in a similar way as do those pesticides, in short, the plant carries its own insecticide. "
Today more than ever we need the Special Peruvians take more seriously the growing threat more alarming but even when it checks for the presence of GMOs in Peru:
RAAA and ASPEC: five of the nine samples sent were positive for presence of GMOs, their products were purchased at a supermarket and supply center of Lima and have the registration of the DIGESA
Lima November 15 .- In a press conference held today, the Red Action Alternative Agriculture (RAAA) and the Peruvian Association of Consumers and Users (ASPEC) brought to the attention of public opinion the results of a study to determine the presence or absence of GMOs in food consumed in our

Five of the nine samples submitted were positive for presence of GMOs, their products were purchased at a supermarket and supply center of Lima and have DIGESA registration. The samples were analyzed at the Laboratory of Biotechnology, Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology (INTA), University of Chile, with the following Results: Product Code envioAnálisis

These findings call into question the use of such genetically modified food, global issues for the risks they pose to consumer health due to the generation of allergies and the uncertainty about other possible effects long-term consumption.
The labeling of these products does not point at GM component, so it is necessary to reform the rules on food labeling.
They were also sent letters to manufacturers of soy products and corn to voluntarily report on transgenic origin of their inputs and to date have not responded officially. Therefore, this issue should draw the attention of the authorities to take appropriate measures to protect health consumers and the environment from these products, as there lobbying by multinationals and some researchers to push this technology through efforts in Congress aimed to develop research, production and marketing of GMOs, as well as consideration patent for this type of body.
are known to Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) or transgenic, are bodies which have been incorporated a gene from a plant, animal, human or an artificial organism, to confer any property or specific property. More information:
